Courthouse vows come ahead of August ceremony
Haliburton and Jones tied the knot at the Indianapolis Marriage License Office, according to TMZ Sports. Jones wore a white minidress and carried a bouquet, while Haliburton dressed in black.
The pair shared photos of the courthouse visit on Instagram. Jones captioned the post, "It's (courthouse) official."
Their formal wedding ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 1, according to Bleacher Report. Haliburton referenced the countdown himself, commenting on one of Jones' posts that there were "2 more weeks we changing that last name."
A wedding shadowed by loss
The marriage comes weeks after tragedy struck Jones' bachelorette trip to St. Barts. Her longtime friend, 26-year-old Makenzi Kern, died on June 8 from what her family described as unrelated health complications, according to TMZ.
Kern's family said they did not suspect foul play, drugs or alcohol were involved.
Jones later paid tribute to Kern in an Instagram post, saying her friendship "changed my life forever." Haliburton showed support in the comments, writing simply, "I love you."
Seven years together, now married
Haliburton and Jones met in 2019 as students at Iowa State University, where he played basketball for the Cyclones and she was a cheerleader, according to People. He proposed on the Hilton Coliseum court in July 2025.
Haliburton missed the entire 2025-26 NBA season recovering from an Achilles injury but is expected back for the Pacers this autumn.
