'Really, really, really, really hopeful'
Kathryn Newton, 29, spoke to PEOPLE at the Culver City, California, premiere of her new Prime Video thriller, The Devil's Mouth, on July 28.
Asked about a potential third season of the HBO drama, she said she is "really, really, really, really hopeful" it will happen.
Newton added that she thinks positively about the project and would welcome a reunion with her former castmates.
She played Abigail, the teenage daughter of Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), across both seasons of the show, which premiered in 2017 and returned for a second run in 2019.
Witherspoon and Kelley have already teased a comeback
Witherspoon, who also executive produces the series, indicated in June that the project was moving ahead during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, according to PEOPLE.

Series creator David E. Kelley gave a further update in April, telling PEOPLE the cast was reassembling and that a strong new run was on the way, though he declined to share specifics.
Kelley had previously said, in June 2025, that while none of the main cast were formally signed yet, everyone involved remained committed to the project, according to a separate PEOPLE report.
No premiere date has been set. Reportedly, the new season is set to stream on HBO Max when it arrives.
