If you're interested in eating less but still getting all of your nutritional needs met in a convenient pack, then you may have heard of Aluna by Shake That Weight. This product is marketed as providing appetite support while fighting fatigue. It's clinically studied, vegan and gluten-free, and doesn't require any needles, prescriptions, or extreme diets.

What's interesting about Aluna by Shake That Weight is that it isn’t a shake. Instead, it's a daily food supplement in capsule form that provides extensive nutritional support for those on weight loss routines.

In this review, we wanted to know if Aluna was good. Does it really live up to the hype? Let's take a look, shall we?

Who is Aluna from Shake That Weight for?

Aluna by Shake That Weight is for people who are trying to eat less, cut back on regular food, or are currently on a GLP-1-based medication. The product is designed to supply three vegan capsules a day for 30 days, with 90 capsules per pouch.

There are 17 active ingredients in one serving, providing complete micronutrient support for those who need it, as well as selected herbal supplements to support metabolism. Turning over the packet, you can see all doses disclosed, and there are no proprietary blends.

Shake That Weight is marketing Aluna as a transparent product that customers can trust and rely on.

What we liked about Aluna

There's quite a long list of things that we really liked about Aluna by Shake That Weight. We were impressed to see that this diet shake company had taken a new approach to weight loss supplements, giving people more freedom and flexibility to choose their path. Here's everything that we thought was a real plus about the product.

Exceptional transparency

One of the first things we noticed about Aluna by Shake That Weight was the exceptional transparency the company puts into the formulation. It doesn't hide its product behind any proprietary blends, allowing consumers to see exactly what's in the product on the ingredient list. Shake That Weight discloses the exact doses of all 17 ingredients, so you know exactly what you're getting. This is particularly helpful for people with food intolerances and sensitivities.

Highly bioavailable ingredients

Shake That Weight also focuses on something that the industry largely sidetracks: the bioavailability of ingredients contained in various products. Aluna uses a premium formulation of active forms of vitamins and minerals that the body can easily absorb. This means that the dose written on the side of the packet is more likely to be the dose the body receives. Of course, we weren't able to test this directly, but it's good to see that the brand is thinking about this intensely and marketing it.

It's particularly important for the body to be able to absorb vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and vitamin K2. Shake That Weight provides these in bioavailable forms like methylcobalamin, P5P, and magnesium bi-glycinate.

Multi-faceted craving support

As a product designed for those going through weight loss or coming off GLP-1 medications, Shake That Weight saw it as important to provide craving support. One of the biggest problems for dieters at the end of the process is their bodies wanting to return to their previous weight or set point. Aluna contains several ingredients that fight cravings and allow weight to stay off for longer. For example, it has:

  • Saffron for reducing stress
  • Gymnema for sweet cravings
  • Chromium to balance blood sugar

Acts as a nutritional safety net

Aluna also acts as a nutritional safety net for people on low-calorie diets. It provides a raft of essential nutrients that keeps consumers from missing their RDAs.

Even so, we were impressed that Shake That Weight always chose to use honest marketing. The brand explicitly avoids calling Aluna a magic pill for weight loss and instead positions it as a foundational support system to combat fatigue and support low-calorie diet options. The goal is to provide customers with more complete nutrition, which is something that we appreciated, but without any sensationalist claims.

Dietary inclusivity

Lastly, Aluna by Shake That Weight is an inclusive product that caters to both vegan and gluten-free audiences. This makes it accessible to a wider range of people and means that you don't have to worry about dietary intolerances or sensitivities. The brand currently has more than 20,000 positive reviews online and has 15 years of experience in the industry.

Downsides

So what was it that we didn't like so much about Aluna by Shake That Weight?

To be honest, there were very few things that we disliked about the product. There are a couple of things that we might change:

Metaboloid is a heavily marketed hero ingredient that Shake That Weight is keen to promote, but Aluna only contains 300 mg per serving, whereas clinical trials for the botanical complex used 500 mg. Perhaps there is a case here for increasing the dose available in each capsule.

The daily capsule count is quite high. Many people don't want to take three capsules with food every day, and there is a risk of pill fatigue. Some people also dislike swallowing, which is one of the reasons why meal replacement shakes became so popular in the first place.

There's also the fact that it takes a little while for Aluna's effects to kick in. The brand recommends people use it for 8 to 12 weeks to fill the routine. It's not a fast-acting energy booster, but rather something that builds slowly over time.

Final verdicts. What did we think about Aluna by Shake That Weight?

Ultimately, we were impressed by Aluna by Shake That Weight. The product provides many of the benefits of a meal replacement shake in pill form, offering convenience to customers who prefer that method. It's an ideal support for anyone currently on or who has recently come off GLP-1 medications like Ozempic. The downsides in our view are minimal and things that are common to virtually all pill-based supplements on the market today.
