Before generating another clip, find out whether the sound is missing from the original file or from the version you are watching. An AI video has no sound for several quite different reasons: a muted preview, an export without its audio track, or a generation that never produced audio at all.
Those failures can look identical in a player. They do not call for the same repair. Keep the original download while you investigate, especially if you have already trimmed or reformatted the picture.
When an AI video has no sound, compare the copies
Download the original result and play it deliberately in a local player. Compare that with the website preview and, if you have one, your edited export. Listen at a moderate volume and check the selected output device.
Use the first difference to choose where to investigate:

For a video delivered by an application, keep the request and returned file together. If the application uses reAPI, its model-specific audio settings are part of the request worth checking. The developer should compare that original result with any later transcode or edit. Without the original, a problem introduced during export can be mistaken for a generation failure.
The download works, but the preview does not
Start with the player's own volume control. Then check whether the browser tab is muted and whether the computer is sending sound to the expected speakers or headphones. A Bluetooth device that remains connected can make a working file appear silent elsewhere.
Chrome's autoplay policy allows muted autoplay while restricting autoplay with sound in some circumstances. A moving preview may therefore start without an audible soundtrack even though the underlying file contains one. Click or tap play deliberately and unmute the player before drawing a conclusion from the preview.
If the download sounds right in a local player, preserve it. You already have an audible source. Regenerating the scene would create a new version without addressing the playback behaviour you just identified.
The source has sound; the edited export lost it
Open the editing project and follow the audio track through the section you exported. It may be disabled, muted or detached from the video. If you moved or trimmed the picture after separating the sound, confirm that the intended audio still covers the exported interval.
Next inspect the video export settings. Hearing the timeline proves the project can play sound; it does not prove the exported file contains it. Make a short export from a section with clearly audible audio and play that file outside the editor.
The original is silent: inspect its audio stream
A player's media-information panel may list the streams in the file. For a command-line check, the FFmpeg tools include ffprobe. With those tools installed, this command inspects audio streams in a local file without modifying it:
ffprobe -v error -select_streams a \
-show_entries stream=index,codec_name,channels,sample_rate \
-of json original.mp4
Interpret the outcome only after checking whether the command completed successfully. An error reading the file is not the same thing as a valid result showing no audio streams.
If the successful result has an empty streams list, ffprobe found no audio track in that file. Unmuting cannot restore a stream that is absent. Look for an earlier download, a separate soundtrack or another source of audio.
If it lists an audio stream, continue investigating. The stream may contain silence or very quiet sound, or the player may have difficulty decoding it. Try another player, then import the file into an editor if needed. A waveform can help locate audible passages; it does not establish that the spoken words or the mix match the brief.
The generation never included the sound you wanted
Now return to the job settings. Check the precise model and mode, not just the product name. A service can offer several routes with different audio behaviour. Asking a character to speak in the prompt does not establish that the selected route generates speech.
The image-to-video interface on ClipDance, for example, shows a Generate Audio control for the displayed Seedance route. Check whether the relevant control was enabled for your job. A setting shown in a tutorial for another model may not be available in the one you used.
Be precise about what is missing. A clip with music but no dialogue has an audio track; it has failed a different part of the request. If only ambience was requested, the absence of speech is not evidence that the entire audio system failed.
Once the cause is clear, decide whether the picture needs to change at all. A separate soundtrack may be enough for music or ambience. Replacement dialogue requires attention to mouth movement and scene length. Generating the whole clip again may alter an image you had already approved.
If your AI video has no sound because the original contains no audio, choose a source for the missing track. If an earlier copy is audible, work forward from that copy until you find the step that lost it. Keep the approved picture available while you make that repair.
